NLF RUMBLE RECAP: Who Showed out at Rutgers

NLF Rumble Recap: Who Showed Out at Rutgers

2026 Division

This weekend’s bracket absolutely delivered, with #1 LI Express Channy and #2 Laxachusetts
Black living up to the hype — and then some.
Both squads came in firing. Channy steamrolled pool play with dominant wins over Team 91 CO
(14–4), HHH (12–3), and Midwest Top Gun (17–0). On the flip side, Laxachusetts handled
business just as smoothly, taking down Madlax-Capital (13–4), Team 91 New Jersey (15–3), and
Wieczorek (12–2).
Sunday morning featured the heavyweight battle everyone was waiting for. In a packed 9 AM
game, Laxachusetts edged Channy 11–8 in one of the most electric games of the tournament —
high energy, elite talent, and big-time plays on both ends.
Channy didn’t fold, bouncing back with a convincing 14–3 win over Team 91 CO to lock in 3rd.
But the weekend belonged to Laxachusetts, who shut down Wieczorek 12–4 to take the title and
make a real push for that #1 spot.
With this kind of firepower, we haven’t seen the last of these two. A rematch later this summer
would be must-watch lacrosse.

2027 Division

This division was stacked from top to bottom, and the action all weekend proved it.
● #4 Laxachusetts Black – came in sharp and never let off the gas. They rolled through
Team 91 CO, Crabs, LI Rage, and Moran, going 4–0 with a ridiculous 44–16 goal
differential. Just total control all weekend.
● #10 Madlax Capital – looked the part early with a strong win over LI Express Moran.
They stayed competitive in every matchup and capped the weekend with a gritty 6–5 win
over Crabs. Classic Madlax — battle-tested and tough.
● #16 Baltimore Crabs – battled all weekend long. They earned wins over Team 91 LI
Rage and Freeze, gave Laxachusetts a good fight, and came up just short against Madlax.
They showed they can hang with the best.

● #22 Leading Edge – didn’t get the outcomes they wanted, but they showed serious
flashes. With more reps, this is a team that could make some noise down the stretch of the
summer circuit.

Between the ranked firepower and the competitive grind of pool play, every game felt like
bracket play. This age group is deep, physical, and unpredictable — and the summer’s just
getting started.

2028 Division

While not as loaded with ranked squads, this division was wide open — and a few teams took
full advantage.
● #16 LI Express Chucks Black – came in as the top-ranked squad and left no doubt why.
They went 4–0, picking up wins over Madlax, Rage, Laxachusetts, and Tritons. Their
16-goal outburst in the final capped off a dominant run, with only Laxachusetts keeping it
close. A complete performance across the board.
● #29 Madlax Capital – came to play. They picked up key wins over Laxachusetts,
Tritons, and HHH, with their only loss coming in a tight 7–4 battle with LI Express. They
looked physical, organized, and like a team ready to climb.
● Laxachusetts Black – started off with a bang, dropping 14 on HHH, and kept every
other game close. Their two losses were by a single goal each — one to Madlax, one to
Express. They proved they’re a tough out and right in the mix with the top squads.
● Lower-ranked standouts – Teams like Team 91 CO Rage and LI 2028 Tritons played
tough all weekend, keeping things close and pushing higher-ranked teams to the edge.
The depth here was real.

The 2028 class showed serious promise. With the way this group played, don’t be surprised if a
few teams rocket up the rankings in the next few weeks.
