Maryland Cup: High School Teams That Impressed
With the final club tournament of the summer wrapped up, it's time to highlight the standout high school teams from the Maryland Cup. With final rankings on the line and one last chance to impress college coaches, teams across all age groups brought their best to the field.
2026
Major Force Lacrosse Black and FLG dominated the Stevenson Bracket, each going 3-0 in their single day of play. MFL secured wins over Maxim Navy, Monster White, and South Jersey Shamrocks, all by margins of four goals or more. FLG, meanwhile, limited Lake Effect Storm, Maxim Navy, and Monster White to just six goals apiece in their victories.
#21 Philly Blast went undefeated in the Towson Bracket. They opened with dominant wins over Yellow Jackets Mid Atlantic Ophof (10–1) and Team 91 Carolina (11–0), then edged Long Island Top Guns Purple in a thrilling 8–7 finish.
Lakeshore finished 3-0 in the UMBC Bracket, with close wins over Xtreme, Salt City Pink, and MDLAX.
In the Washington Bracket, #1 Long Island Top Guns Black and #8 Aces Elite both went 2-0-1, tying each other in a head-to-head matchup. Top Guns added quality wins over #17 Monster Purple and #6 HHH Philly, remaining undefeated against both programs throughout summer play. Aces Elite picked up a key 10–5 win over HHH Philly and also defeated Monster Purple to break their season split.
2027
ADK Peak topped the Frostburg Bracket at 2-0-1, with wins over Saltwater and DEWLAX Silver, and a draw against Ambition Elite.
Reign went undefeated in the Goucher Bracket. After a close opener against Monster White, they cruised past Yellow Jackets North Porter (10–2) and Team 91 Carolina (11–1).
518eXcelerate finished 3-0 in the Hood Bracket, starting with a seven-goal win over FLG White before battling to narrow victories over Predators and Philly Blast Confidence.
In the Hopkins Bracket, Salt City Green also remained unbeaten, scoring exactly 8 goals in each game while defeating Major Force Lacrosse Black, FLG Carolina, and All American Aim: Stars & Stripes.
You First Elite Launch claimed the Loyola Bracket with a 2-0-1 record, notching wins over Maxim Navy and Xtreme, and tying Yellow Jackets Piscitelli.
The Maryland Bracket featured a three-way tie at 2-1 between Minnesota Elite, FCA, and HoCo Black, as each team traded wins. Minnesota beat FCA and HoCo but fell to Jersey Shore Select Blue. FCA, in turn, defeated HoCo and Jersey Shore, while Jersey Shore took down Minnesota and HoCo.
Long Island Top Guns Purple stood atop the McDaniel Bracket at 3-0, with close wins over DEWLAX Navy and Impact, followed by a more comfortable victory over True: MD United Bethesda Black.
DEWLAX Black went undefeated in the Morgan State Bracket, narrowly edging LaxManiax:214 and Compass, then finishing strong against Lax On Elite with a six-goal win.
Sky Walkers White led the Mount St. Mary’s Bracket at 2-0-1, winning against Jesters Blue and Capital Orange, and tying Steps Elite NJ: Carolina.
Salt City Pink dominated the Notre Dame Bracket, winning all three games. After a close win over Sound Lacrosse, they surged past Yellow Jackets South (8–3) and FLG Navy (13–4).
In the Salisbury Bracket, Shine Select Orange and Mad Dog West Elite each went 2-1. Shine bested Mad Dog and Bay State Bullets Silver before falling to Yellow Jackets Gaghan. Mad Dog earned wins over Yellow Jackets and Bay State.
#8 HHH Philly led the St. Mary’s Bracket with a perfect 3-0 record, including wins over All American Aim, #25 Yellow Jackets Mager, and #10 Team ONE Wildcat.
#22 Monster Purple topped the Stevenson Bracket with wins over CT Grizzlies, Hero’s White, and Lake Effect Storm.
#17 Steps Elite NJ Navy allowed just four goals per game en route to a 3-0 finish in the Towson Bracket, defeating #18 Long Island Top Guns Purple, #19 Philly Blast Courage, and LI Liberty Black.
#9 Jesters Black emerged from the UMBC Bracket with a 2-1 record, defeating MD United and #23 Capital Blue, while narrowly falling to #24 Sky Walkers Blue.
In the Washington Bracket, #4 Aces Elite and #2 Yellow Jackets Stadler both finished 2-1. Aces broke their season tie with #7 Prime Time but fell by one goal to #16 Steps California. Yellow Jackets defeated both Steps and Prime Time, improving to 2-0-1 against them this summer.
2028
FLG led the Maryland Bracket at 2-0-1. After tying Yellow Jackets Mid Atlantic Hoeg, they defeated Roar PA and Major Force Lacrosse Black.
Maxim Navy went 2-0 in the McDaniel Bracket, holding both opponents—TLC Red and Yellow Jackets Ramos—to three goals each. Their final game versus Yellow Jackets Merriman was not played, but their results were enough to secure the top spot.
In the Morgan State Bracket, Xtreme and Philly Blast Bold each went 2-0, with wins over Team 91 Carolina and Salt City Green. Their matchup with each other was not played.
Long Island Top Guns Purple earned the top spot in the Mount St. Mary’s Bracket at 2-0-1, tying Lake Effect Storm Red and earning wins over Impact and Monster White.
All American Aim went 2-0-1 in the Notre Dame Bracket, tying FLG Navy and beating Lax On Elite and Capital Orange decisively.
Steps Elite NJ White ran the table in the Salisbury Bracket, going 3-0 with a 6-goal win over ADK Peak Ice and one-goal victories over Reign and Yellow Jackets North Howe.
CT Grizzlies dominated the St. Mary’s Bracket, going 3-0 with big wins over Yellow Jackets Napolitano (12–3), Yellow Jackets South (15–5), and Team ONE Wildcat (8–4).
#23 Long Island Top Guns Black took revenge on Steps California and added wins over Yellow Jackets Carannante and Sound Lacrosse to sweep the Stevenson Bracket.
Philly Blast Brave topped the Towson Bracket with a revenge win over #25 Mad Dog West Elite, a tie with #11 Salt City Pink, and a final win over Compass (9–4).
Despite only playing two games, #5 Monster Purple led the UMBC Bracket with wins over #25 Capital Blue and #14 Steps Elite NJ Blue, maintaining their unbeaten streak against New Jersey teams this summer.
#9 HHH Philly also went 2-0 in the Washington Bracket, including a revenge win over #10 Aces Elite and a victory over #14 Yellow Jackets Mager. They were unable to face #3 Prime Time in what would have been a highly anticipated rematch.
2029
In the Salisbury Bracket, Maxim Navy dominated with a 3-0 record, winning each game by 10+ goals, including a 16–3 rout of Yellow Jackets North McFadden.
Steps Elite NJ: Carolina led the St. Mary’s Bracket at 2-0-1, tying Team 91 Long Island Thunder and earning wins over Long Island Top Guns Purple and Philly Blast Determination.
With a shortened schedule, Yellow Jackets Manning finished 2-0 in the Stevenson Bracket, defeating Compass and ADK Peak.
Salt City Pink and #25 Steps California both finished 2-1 in the Towson Bracket. Salt City beat Yellow Jackets North Williams and earned a key win over Steps, with their only loss a one-goal game against #21 Tradition. Steps secured wins over Yellow Jackets and Tradition before falling to Salt City.
#4 Team 91 Long Island Roar went 3-0 in the UMBC Bracket, scoring 10 goals in each game while defeating HHH Philly Blue, Sound Lacrosse, and #11 Long Island Top Guns Black.
#1 Yellow Jackets Friedman capped their summer by validating their top ranking with a 3-0 showing in the Washington Bracket. They edged #8 Monster Purple and #10 Steps Elite NJ Navy by one goal each and defeated #19 Philly Blast Drive by two.
We are incredibly proud of the effort and energy shown by all the club teams this summer. From statement wins to tight finishes, these teams battled for rankings, pride, and college coach attention. We can't wait to see how they reload for the fall season!
