Maddie is a standout defender. She is quick in clears and has excellent stick protection and form while running through ground balls. She is a key component for her team’s transition and utilizes both hands to ensure ball is in her outside hand away from pressure. Her ability to stay composed under pressure is remarkable whether she is being doubled or hustling to slow down a fast break. She picks up cutters well and drives them out of the 8 with textbook defense. She will continue to work on her footwork and endurance to stay locked into double teaming and work to pass ball quickly up field and not rely only on speed.
