Nick is a tall rangy defenseman who uses his height and reach to his advantage. He is athletic enough to run the field, and I actually project him more as an LSM than a close defenseman. He’s good on the ground and has the stick skills to be a threat on the offensive end in transition, and he tends to favor the risky takeaway checks that so many young LSMs go for. He does pull them off, but I’d like to see him play better fundamental defense and improve his footwork.
