Sophie is a terrific defender. She has great field awareness and good vision to redirect the ball in clears. Her defensive approach sliding to ball on fast breaks and 8 meters to block the shots and gain possession is superb. She has excellent communication skills in team defense on a player down situation with fielding cutters and making sure backside is taken care of by always marking two players. Her 1v1 defense is solid as she holds her space and is in control of directing her opponent down and away from goal. She will continue to improve upon her stick skills while being pressured throughout the midfield. Overall, Sophie hustles on the 50/50 ground balls and contributes to her team’s success.
