Maren is a solid defender. She has exceptional field awareness and an ability to anticipate where the ball is going to gain multiple interceptions on settled defense. Her quick first step and acceleration through 50/50 ground balls is superb. She displays good speed when clearing the ball through the midfield and hustling to jump start her offense with a fast break. Maren demonstrates good defense of knowing when to slide on team defense and staying low and driving her opponents out in 1v1 defense. Maren will continue to utilize her non-dominant hand to be a dual threat in clears and showcase more of her strong 1v1 defense.
