Esa is a skilled midfielder. She has good field vision seeing her open teammates cutting into the 8 and gives accurate feeds. Her ability to utilize both hands interchangeably along with her stick handling and ball control is superb. She is active in the redefend with clean checks and slowing the fast breaks. Her efforts on the draw circle with one-handed snags and hustling to 50/50 ground balls are key contributors for her team. Esa has good 1v1 defense at applying pressure but will continue to showcase more defensive highlights of settled team defense. She drives hard to the cage and does a good job of getting her feet set and letting it rip on an outside shot as well as placing when inside the 8.
