Ella is a standout defender. She has a strong 1v1 lockdown defense, applying pressure and disrupting her opponent’s ability to drive or feed. She does an excellent job in using her field awareness to recognize when to slide and double on team defense. Her quick reaction time and anticipating where the ball is going by timing her approach to earn interceptions on settled team defense is superb. Ella moves well off-ball into space on the clears to give her teammates more options and faster ball movement. She will continue to utilize her non-dominant hand in clearing the ball to evade pressure and be a dual threat.
