Max is a very calm goalie in the net, there isn't a lot of wasted movement in his game. He has good rebound control and stays centered in the cage very well. He gets the ball out of his stick quickly on clears, and doesn't go to the ground as quickly as some other young goalies. He plays angles well, and makes himself look big in the cage. He does tend to drop his stick a little too quickly and cheat low, that may come back to bite him as he starts facing better shooters
