Kaylen is a reliable defender. She has good field awareness to recognize when to slide, hedge and double on team defense to disrupt drives to cage and off-ball cutters. Her quick reaction time and anticipation of the ball on clears help earn interceptions for her team. She moves well off-ball into space on the clears to give her teammates more options for faster ball movement. Her excellent hustle plays on 50/50 ground balls have a big impact on her team’s success. Kaylen will continue to be more hands on when establishing contact in her 1v1 defense by breaking down her steps in her approach and holding her space outside of the 8. She will also continue to utilize her non-dominant hand to be dual threat.
