Emerson is a proficient midfielder and draw specialist. She tracks the ball well on the draw circle, hustling to all 50/50 ground balls. She showcases her good field vision in transitioning the ball to recognize when the defense is shifting towards her and leaving her teammate open on the backside to assist. Her quick footwork in her dodges with a simple jab step to get the defender one way and then explodes with her first step downhill towards the cage with good shot placement. Emerson drives hard to cage in her 1v1’s with good speed and weaving through traffic inside the 8-meter to a get a quality shot off. She will continue to utilize her non-dominant hand more for her shots on goal and will highlight more of her efforts on defense to be a two-way middie.
