Jaslyn is a proficient midfielder. She contributes well on the draw circle with one-handed snags and good boxing out to earn a 50/50 ground ball. She does a good job of being deceptive with her shot release making it difficult for the goalie to read. Her powerful step down shot off the 8-meter with good placement on goal is superb. Her ability to work well in the two-man game drawing the double team and keeping her head up to feed an open teammate is textbook. Defensively she stays tightly marked and anticipates her opponents’ movements well inside the 8-meter to deny a front cut. Jaslyn has good team defense by hedging early to make the slide quicker as well as quickly readjusting to ball shifting. She will continue to move the ball up field in transition with quicker ball movement as well as working on fine tuning her defensive footwork to stay matched against shifty opponents.
