Summer is a valuable midfielder. She drives hard to cage with effective dodges and can finish the ball with either hand making it tough to defend her. Her off-ball movement in cutting hard to get her hands free to catch inside the 8-meter and get a quality shot off is excellent. She does a great job of reading the field of where the ball is going and picks off passes to gain her team interceptions. Her quick reaction time on her clean checks and securing the ground ball to jump start her offense in transitioning the ball up field is superb. Summer hustles in a defensive transition to turn the player away from the middle and force down and outside the 12-meter to prevent a fast break. Her defensive positioning in a double team and communication while adjusting with her teammate is textbook. She will continue to push her creativity on the offensive end and keep fine tuning her footwork in her 1v1 defensive matchups.
