Taylor is an exceptional defender. She has excellent anticipation for the ball and makes great hustle plays to gain interceptions. Taylor does a great job of getting her stick in the passing or shooting lane causing the ball to deflect and preventing a goal. She displays great field awareness while off-ball to keep her vision on both her opponent and where the ball is because she comes away with key caused turnovers on 50/50 ground balls inside the 8-meter. Taylor demonstrates good Lacrosse IQ recognizing the bigger threat in a fast break by calculating when to slide towards ball leaving her opponent open but gets in the ball carrier’s hands to stop ball until her team defense settles in with numbers. She showcases her stick handling skills by her confidence in clearing the ball while staying composed under pressure to find her open teammate up field. She will continue to utilize her non-dominant hand even more when clearing the ball to be a dual threat and showcase more of her solid 1v1 defensive efforts.
