Carter combines technique with athleticism to be a very solid young goalie. He has good positioning in the net, and reacts instead of guessing. He throws very accurate outlet passes, and looks to get the ball out of his stick quickly. He doesn't get himself out of position, and moves his feet well when he does have to move side to side. I'd like to see him look upfield more on clears, this could be a scheme thing but he defers to his poles on clears instead of trying to hit middies for a transition opportunity.
