Cole has better defensive footwork than a lot of young LSMs, and has a good stick in transition. He's opportunistic with his checks, and is good at helping off ball to strip a player who doesn't know he's coming. He's physical, sometimes to a fault, but he isn't afraid to throw his body around. He goes over the head a little too much, but he pulls it off so its hard to ding him too much for it. He just needs to make sure he keeps his feet moving so he doesnt get out of position when he throws those checks.
