Canaan is a solid defender. She has great speed in clearing the ball weaving through double teams to help jumpstart her offense. She holds her 1v1 defensive stance with lockdown pressure. Her hustle to 50/50 ground balls and running through to secure her team possession is superb. She does a good job of staying tightly matched on cutters. Canaan will continue to improve upon her non-dominant stick skills to be a dual threat as well as highlight more of her efforts on team defense.
